License your packaging in 3 easy steps

SYSTEM PARTICIPATION

First, use Lizenzero to license your individual packaging volume with the dual system Interseroh+. To do so, use our Calculation Assistant, which makes it easy for you to work out the packaging weights you need to license.

REGISTRATION

Then register your account with LUCID at the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR). Enter the registration number you receive from the ZSVR into your Lizenzero customer account.

DATA REPORTING

In the last step you simply need to enter your licensed packaging volumes and Interseroh+ as your dual system into your LUCID Dashboard. Important: By law, your volume figures must be kept up-to-date. This means that if your volumes change, you must update all of these in LUCID to ensure that the data here is always current.

Are you an exporter who ships goods to German consumers?

The German Packaging Act (VerpackG) was passed to increase recycling rates for packaging waste in Germany.

All companies who place sales packaging filled with goods on the market in Germany and sell this to German consumers must comply with the provisions of the Packaging Act. This packaging ultimately ends up in the hands of private households, who dispose of it using household waste collections.

To ensure the proper recycling of this packaging, the companies in question must participate in a dual system, so that the company running this system can organise the collection, sorting and recycling of the packaging waste.

Important: International traders should clarify beforehand who is responsible for goods when they cross the border. That company must then fulfil all legal obligations arising from the VerpackG. In cases where an international company ships goods directly to German consumers without using a distributor, this company is always required to license the packaging sent with these goods.

Here you can see how many kilograms of primary raw materials you save with your packaging licensing and its associated recycling. To clearly illustrate the volume saved, we also use a diagram containing the corresponding number of apples.

The calculated values are based on an annual study from the prestigious Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT).

We state the volume of primary raw materials saved and greenhouse gas emissions reduced by your company’s partnership with Interseroh on your personal resource protection certificate.

Calculate your packaging volumes quickly and easily
with our Calculation Assistant!

To license your packaging you must specify the volumes of packaging that you place on the market in Germany, using kilograms as units. When you licence your packaging the first time, you must also estimate the volumes for the entire current year. Our Calculation Assistant gives you a helping hand!

Using your product sales figures, simply estimate the numbers of items you need for each packaging type, making use of the standard packaging types that are integrated into our Calculation Assistant. Once you have your numbers, enter them at the bottom of the page and let the Assistant calculate your packaging weights. Click on "NEXT" to licence your packaging!

How to package (more) sustainably!

Rising consumption and trends like ‘to go’ are filling the world with more and more packaging. This is having an increasing impact on the environment. While some consumers are now calling for packaging to be scrapped entirely, this just isn’t possible in many sectors.

One alternative approach to making the world of commerce more sustainable is to use packaging that is (more) sustainable.

Visit the following link to find out more about the key features of (more) sustainable packaging and how you can optimise your own packaging: Interseroh+ - Made for Recycling.
